Candidate Policy

Dear Candidate,

Thank you for applying for a job at Verifone Payments B.V. (formerly known as Avangate B.V.)., Avangate Inc., Avangate SRL or any of their affiliates doing business as 2Checkout ("2Checkout").

This Recruitment Privacy Notice ("Privacy Notice") describes how we handle and protect your personal data in connection with Company's recruiting process.

By submitting your personal data to us, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Notice and agree to the use of your personal data as set out herein. You are not required to provide any requested information to us, but failing to do so may result in not being able to continue your candidacy for the job for which you have applied.

0. Personal data we collect

We usually collect personal data directly from you when you apply for a role with us, such as your name, address, contact information, work and educational history. We also may collect personal data about you from third parties, such as professional recruiting firms, or from the public internet where you have made this information publicly available, for example, we may find your profile on LinkedIn and contact you about suitable roles; from your references, prior employers, our employees with whom you have interviewed, and employment background check providers, to the extent this is permitted by applicable law.

1. Use of your personal data

We collect and use your personal data for legitimate human resources and business management reasons, and in compliance with the law, where certain information is necessary to satisfy a legal or regulatory requirement including:

  • 1.1 identifying and evaluating candidates for potential employment, as well as for future roles that may become available;
  • 1.2 identifying candidate profile, conducting criminal history checks as permitted by applicable law;
  • 1.3 protecting our legal rights to the extent authorized or permitted by law.
  • 1.4 creating an employee record, if your job application is successful, the information you give during the application process will form part of your employee record and will be used to administer your employment and manage your career at 2Checkout;
  • 1.5 statistics and analytics, we may use some of the personal information you provide for various reporting purposes - you will not be personally identified from these reports.
2. Data recipients and data transfers

Your personal data may be accessed by recruiters and interviewers within the company or within the group to which the company belongs to. Individuals performing administrative functions and IT personnel may also have a limited access to your personal data.

Third parties, such as recruitment agencies, test providers, background screening agencies and other providers of services, help us fill vacancies and assess the suitability of candidates and progress applications. Where we use third parties, 2Checkout ensures that they meet the same privacy and security standards as 2Checkout. Law enforcement agencies, government bodies, regulatory organisations, courts or other public authorities if we have to, or are authorised to by law; a third party or body where such disclosure is required to satisfy any applicable law, or other legal or regulatory requirement.

In doing the above, we may need to transfer your data to other companies in the group or third parties located in countries outside of the country where you have applied, including countries outside of the European Economic Area (EEA). In these cases, we will make sure that there is a legal basis for such transfer as required by the law and your data is adequately protected, for example, by using standard contractual clauses.

3. Data retention

If you accept an offer of employment by us, any relevant personal data collected during your pre-employment period will become part of your personnel records and will be retained in accordance with specific law requirements. Even if we do not employ you, we may desire to retain your personal data for up to 3 years to consider you for future employment opportunities, except if you tell us otherwise.

4. Security

We have implemented generally accepted standards of technical and operational security to protect personal data from loss, misuse, alteration, or destruction.

5. Your rights

You have the right to request access to the personal data that we have collected about you for the purposes of reviewing, modifying, or requesting deletion of the data. You may have the right to request a copy of the personal data we have collected about you and to have any inaccuracies about you corrected. You may also request that we cease processing your personal data (e.g., if you choose to withdraw from our recruiting program), although note that we may need to retain certain personal data where required or permitted to under applicable law.
