Hurray For Hollywood…and 2Checkout!

Did you realize your 2Checkout-powered storefront is located next door to celebrity and greatness? A recent scan of 2Checkout accounts identified an eclectic mix of performing artists spanning a wide spectrum of entertainment interests. They may have little in common onstage but they all chose to rely on 2Checkout to power their website’s e-commerce function.

To promote a recent return to the ring, big time wrestling giant, The Ultimate Warrior, used 2Checkout to market webcast access of the match to his international fan base requesting live footage of the historic event held in Barcelona. Retired Marine Corps Gunnery Sergeant and star of the History Channel’s Mail Call, R. Lee Ermey , uses 2Checkout to market a variety of themed and branded promotional products. “Now drop and give me 25, Maggot!”

Using the “Fixed” parameter

When a product is passed into 2Checkout’s purchase routine using our Plug and Play parameter set, the customer has the ability to edit their product quantity and navigate back to the supplier’s website using the continue shopping button. These options are great for someone selling many different products, but can get confusing when a single product is being sold or a script is passing in products using our Plug and Play parameter set. To help correct the confusion, 2Checkout has implemented the fixed parameter to lock the quantity fields in the purchase routine and remove the continue shopping button. This way, you will not have to worry about the duplicate product purchases that can lead to confusion and even sale abandonment.

Implementing this parameter is as easy as passing in the “fixed” parameter
with a value of “Y”. (Please note that this value is case sensitive and must be in uppercase.)

Documentation Update

We’ve recently updated our third party cart parameter articles to simplify our integration requirements.

If you are developing a 2CO-compatible shopping cart, this consolidates our technical requirements into a single document, based on the parameter set you prefer.

Most developers will want to refer to our custom parameter set as detailed in the article titled What are 2Checkout.com’s own parameters?

Developers who prefer to use our supported subset of Authorize.net parameters will want to refer to the article titled What Authorize.net parameters does 2CO support?

Credit Card Logo Update

2Checkout.comMany 2CO suppliers like adding credit card logos to their site, so customers immediately see that they can pay for their purchases using one of these popular payment options.

To meet credit card association rules, the phrase “2Checkout.com is an authorized retailer for (your business name.)” must be included and logos must be displayed in a manner that accurately represents our relationship. To help with this, we have updated our recommended graphics to include two more payment options: PayPal and FX Source.

Completing the 2Checkout Risk Document

New vendors are often asked to complete a risk form, as well as provide a national identification card and international passport for each business owner. Requesting these documents serves to identify our vendors and to ascertain relevant information pertinent to doing financial business with them. Translations: 2Checkout Wants to Hear from You

Checkout!, Acquista!, Verificar!, Auschecken!, Fazer Pagamento!, Til Kassen!, Passer la Commande!

“Checkout” is no longer the only word we will be using at 2Checkout.com. Soon, “Acquista,” “Verificar,” and “Til Kassen,” will be three of fourteen new ways to checkout customers, as we put the final touches on our newest translated updates of the 2Checkout Single Page Purchase (SPP).

As part of 2Checkout’s Phase One translation plan, fourteen additional languages are being added to the checkout process and are now available for viewing on our beta server, as part of a larger planned overhaul to provide a more seamless and consistent customer-friendly experience. In addition to English, languages added in Phase One are Traditional Chinese, Danish, Dutch, French, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Norwegian, Portuguese, Slovenian, European Spanish, Latin American Spanish, and Swedish.

We encourage you to review these new pages through the 2Checkout beta server (see links below) and provide us feedback on ease-of-use, flow, and translation accuracy. Once we are able to apply appropriate changes based upon your suggestions, we will go Live with the pages and make them available for integration. It is important to note that these pages are for viewing only and are in their initial beta phase, therefore, please do not point real sales to the beta server.

We look forward to your feedback! Additional versions are currently in the works including plans to launch multiple translations of the traditional checkout method pages by mid-summer 2008.

Linking Your Current Payoneer MasterCard To Your 2Checkout Account

If you are an existing 2Checkout supplier and already have a Payoneer MasterCard you are now able to link that card to your 2Checkout account. If you are a supplier with more then 1 2Checkout account this means you can also link your payments together so they are all made to 1 card*. In order to link another 2Checkout vendor ID to an existing card the vendor needs to follow these steps:

  1. Go to your 2CO account. [of the account you wish to link to the card] and go to the sign up for Payoneer card as if you are going to order a new card.
  2. On the top right-hand side below the banner you can see: “If you already own a Prepaid MasterCard® from Payoneer, Click here”
  3. Click on the text and you will be shown a form with 3 fields. One for the card number, your Payoneer username and your Payoneer password.
  4. Enter the card number of the Payoneer card you already have and your existing Username and password for that card
  5. Submit this information
  6. Your additional account is now linked to your existing card

*Each account must meet its individual release level.

Re-Authorization and PayPal Partial Refunds Notice

Due to changes in 2Checkout’s backend billing system, vendors will not have the ability to re-authorize credit card sales in the marked shipped interface portion of the system. Re-authorization attempts will result in a decline for the next 5 to 7 days. Vendors will not be able to provide partial refunds on PayPal sales for the next 5 to 7 days as well. PayPal sales can be refunded in full and canceled in full during this time.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and will post an update when these features are functioning as intended.
